How to Choose a Commercial Lava Rock Grill for Your Restaurant

Choosing a commercial lava rock grill starts with your menu, available kitchen space and gas supply—not just the equipment price.

Whether you are adding a grilling station or planning a complete cooking line, the following checklist will help you compare equipment and prepare a more useful quotation request.

2. Compare Cooking Space and Installation Dimensions

The equipment footprint and the cooking surface are different measurements. Check both before choosing a model.

For example, the Yaumy Kitchen Gas Lava Rock Grill with Cabinet, Model 15-2, has the following confirmed specifications:

Model 15-2 — key specifications
SpecificationModel 15-2
Overall dimensions800 × 900 × (850 + 70) mm
Grill dimensions686 × 600 mm
Base configurationCabinet; no oven
Heat input — LPG17 kW
Heat input — natural gas17 kW
Net weight115 kg

The cabinet base is not an oven. If your menu also requires baking or roasting, plan for separate equipment.

Measure the delivery route as well as the final installation position. Doorways, corners and unloading arrangements can affect whether the equipment reaches the kitchen easily.

3. Confirm the Gas Configuration Before Ordering

Tell your supplier whether the kitchen uses LPG or natural gas, and provide the installation country and any gas-supply information available from your installer.

A specification sheet listing both gas types does not mean that an individual appliance can be connected to either supply without checking its configuration.

Before confirming an order, have a qualified local installer review the selected appliance’s gas requirements, ventilation arrangements, installation clearances and applicable local requirements. Use the instructions for the exact model supplied; do not copy another appliance’s installation settings.

4. Ask About Cleaning and Maintenance Access

A grill should fit your team’s daily cleaning routine as well as its cooking needs.

Before purchasing, ask:

  • Which grates and collection trays can be removed for cleaning?
  • What cleaning procedure does the model’s manual specify?
  • How should the lava rocks be inspected and maintained?
  • Which replacement parts are available?
  • What information is needed when requesting technical support?

Follow the supplied operating and cleaning instructions. Avoid assuming that a cleaning method used on another grill is suitable for your new equipment.

5. Compare Dispatch Time and After-Sales Support

When comparing quotations, distinguish dispatch lead time from delivery time. Equipment that is ready to leave the factory still needs transportation to your destination.

For Model 15-2, Yaumy Kitchen’s ordering and support terms are:

  • Standard orders: Minimum 1 unit per model; single-unit sample orders are accepted.
  • Customized orders: Minimum 10 units per model.
  • In-stock products: Ready for dispatch within 3 calendar days after payment.
  • Customized products: Ready for dispatch in 10–15 calendar days after payment.
  • Warranty: 12 months from the date you receive the equipment, including wear parts.
  • Additional spare parts: Available for purchase separately.
  • After-sales support: Remote technical guidance.
  • Inquiry response: Within one business day.

Dispatch lead times do not include shipping or transit time. Confirm stock availability, the selected configuration and transportation arrangements when requesting your quotation.

6. Send a Complete Quotation Request

You do not need to finalize every technical detail before contacting a supplier. However, a clear request makes it easier to identify a suitable configuration.

Include:

  • Delivery country and city or destination port.
  • Required model and quantity.
  • Main menu items and expected peak-service demand.
  • Available kitchen dimensions or a layout.
  • LPG or natural gas supply.
  • Any customization requirements.
  • Your target opening or delivery date.
